How we look after
your data
Everlit keeps only what it needs to hold a memorial page, share it and remind you of the days that matter.
Last updated 22 October 2026
What we keep
- Your email address, to send sign-in links, reminders, notices about new messages, and receipts.
- What you put on a memorial page: your pet’s name, dates, breed, story, photos and videos.
- Messages, candles and gifts visitors leave, with the name and words they type.
- What you buy, when you paid, and the terms you agreed to at checkout, for your receipt and for refunds the law requires.
- A one-way hash of a visitor’s IP address, used only to stop spam messages and candles. We don’t keep the address itself.
Photos and videos
Photos are re-saved when you upload them, and their camera and location data is removed. Videos are kept exactly as you upload them; if your phone records location inside videos, that stays in the file.
Who can see a page
A draft belongs to your account: only you can open it, once you’re signed in. When you publish, you choose who can open the page: anyone with its link, anyone with its link and a password you set (Forever), or only you. A page open to anyone with its link can also be listed on Browse memorials if you choose; a page with a password or set to only you is never listed.
Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in, one that stops other sites from sending forms in your name, one that remembers you entered a page’s password so you aren’t asked again, and one that remembers whether you chose the light or dark look. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics.
Who helps us
- Dodo Payments takes payments as our merchant of record, and handles sales tax. Your card details go to Dodo Payments; we never see them.
- Microsoft Azure Communication Services sends our emails.
- Railway hosts the site and stores the pages, photos and videos.
- Google, only if you choose “Continue with Google”. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and that it has checked it; we don’t get your contacts, files or anything else from your Google account.
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t show ads.
Deleting your data
You can delete a memorial page yourself from its Page settings. It goes offline straight away; for 30 days you can restore it from My memorials, and after that we delete the page, its photos, videos, messages and candles for good. To delete everything we hold about you, ask us from the email address you sign in with and we’ll delete it within 30 days. Forever pages can download everything first. To reach us: [email protected].
Children
Everlit is not meant for children under 13.
